About Me and My Art
My Past and Future
Belgium-based Irish artist. While raising my three children I specialised in pastels. Now however I am more attracted to acrylic painting, especially fluid art. I enjoy fluid artwork and love exploring its endless possibilities and outcomes in relation to colour choices, mediums used and layering techniques. I am always either painting or thinking about painting.
This year I hope to challenge myself to develop new techniques: explore the use of alcohol inks and the use of pigments in resin art. I am also interested in exploring the world of encaustic art ... which is the use of paint with hot wax.
My Medium
All my artwork is created using the best materials I can find. All are professional standard. I use all the main brands of paint such as Golden, Amsterdam, Pébèo, Winsor and Newton, and Daler Rowney. All my artwork is finished with a protective Isolation coat and two layers of gloss Liquitex varnish, ArtResin or Faux Rizzle Resin, all of which are Archival standard which minimises yellowing and fading over time by protecting the painting from sunlight.
